Do you recognize any of these names? For certain, I knew Banksy. The others not so much if at all. But their art installations were interesting, challenging, inspirational and/or shocking on so many levels and not all at the same time or in the same way.

If you choose to read the article you’ll see that is it actually 8 pages long as the following pages show the Top 10 of previous years until 2013.

But What is Installation Art?

As it says on page 2 of the 8 pages: “Installation art is a modern movement characterized by immersive, larger-than-life works of art. Usually, installation artists create these pieces for specific locations, enabling them to expertly transform any space into a customized, interactive environment.”

The information also describes the Characteristics and Influences of Installation Art. All in all, this was a very interesting, enlightening article that may appeal and be worth scooting down some rabbit holes to learn more about the individual artists.
